Haunted hotels and Sea Views

On our way out of the beautiful redwood forrests of the Santa Cruz mountains we stopped at the haunted Brookdale Lodge! It's a pretty interesting place and in the main dining room an actual brook/river runs through it. Apparently a little girl fell off of the bridge into the creek and died. Then some years later another little girl died in the pool. They both supposedly haunt this hotel. Here's the creepy pool, which is still full of water which is now a little swampy... Creepy.

I guess they used to dress ladies up in mermaid costumes and put on swimming shows. Ha. After we were thouroughly creeped out we got in the van and headed for San Luis Obispo! We decided on taking the senic route 1. It was beautiful, but after an hour or so the windy roads were making us all a little queezy.
